Forming where there is a weakness in an artery wall, thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms kill more people each year than does breast cancer or car accidents. Having high blood pressure, smoking, and a family history of aortic disease are among the risk factors that make them more likely to occur, but unfortunately, aneurysms often strike without warning. In this program, medical experts explain the formation of an aneurysm and how the condition can be diagnosed and repaired before it becomes lethal.
