What would America be like if Roe v. Wade was no longer the law of the land? Before Roe v. Wade--the Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion American women still had abortions. Millions of them. But they were dangerous, traumatic, and often deadly. NO CHOICE is a series of eight filmed portraits of women who have had abortions, along with one man who treated women in the ER for incomplete abortions prior to Roe v. Wade. Each film tells a first-person story, direct to camera, illustrated with personal photographs, memorabilia and home movies. The storytellers come from all walks of life and represent diverse religions, ethnicities and ages. Some had abortions before it was legal. Others are younger women who were more recently denied ready access to abortion due to geography, wait times, intimidation by protestors, financial barriers or other reasons. The reasons for abortion in the series are as varied as the people who seek them.
