Evette Huntley Flindt was Branson's biggest source of inspiration. Henry and Fanny Flindt immigrated to Australia and died of dysentery, orphaning their four children. Gates reveals how Sidney Flindt made his way back to England.
Gehry's Maternal Family Line (08:26)
Leah "Lilly" Friedman and Samuel Kaplan were significant influences for Gehry. They lived in Lodz before immigrating to Canada. Nazis cordoned the Jewish population of Lodz into a ghetto. Morris Friedman became a Jewish police officer and then was sent to Auschwitz, Buchenwald, and Theresienstadt; his wife died at Auschwitz.
