The heir of a highly successful Texan family, Fairfax Dorn could have simply kept the ball rolling with the familial empire. Instead, she moved to New York before returning to her home State. Once in Marfa, she proceeded to turn a former dancehall for the Hispanic community into the acclaimed Ballroom Marfa gallery, and to find funds for what has become a symbol of the post-Judd local art scene: the Prada Marfa installation, a fake luxury boutique in the middle of the desert.
