Job-Seeking Skills for Young People

Job hunters who represent the late phase of the millennial generation or “Generation Y” have more resources at their disposal than any previously emergent group. This program examines technology-based tools that can help young job seekers and the skills necessary to make those tools work. Viewers learn about developing a digital career portfolio and investigating potential employers using the vast mine of information on the Internet. The video also discusses ways to access the “hidden” job market through personal networking, the four main styles of resume (chronological, skills-based, targeted, and generic), the advantages of mock interviews, and the STAR system.
