Charging System Service
©2009

In this video, an automotive technician shows how to diagnose charging system malfunctions: first, by visual inspection of battery terminals, wires, belts, and fuses/fusible links, and then by gathering data with an amp meter, a volt meter, a noise detector, and a load tester. The video also demonstrates how to remove an alternator (both swivel mount and spring-loaded idler pulley types) and install and then test a new or rebuilt replacement. A viewable/printable instructor’s guide is available online. Correlates to National CTE Organizational Standards (including the provisions of the Perkins Act). A Shopware Production. Part of the series Electrical Systems. (10 minutes)
